FADERS
Add up to 40 faders per preset, organize them into groups of your favorite instruments or effects and assign to them their corresponding MIDI controllers. Name each group with a Text Label.
Customize the look by selecting fader type and color, background color and width.
3D PADS
Usually the XY Pads let you control 2 MIDI Controllers with 1 finger on a square surface.
Our trick is to use 2 fingers to control a 3rd MIDI Controller.
Imagine to control Dynamics, Expression and Vibrato Depth of a Cello section, all in real time.
BUTTONS
240 buttons, per preset, available to use as MIDI Controllers and/or Program Changes.

KEY SWITCHES
Have you noticed that many soft synths use the lower or upper octaves as switches for the user to change the sound state?

Frequently Asked Questions
No. DAW IT is not designed to record MIDI messages nor sound.
DAW IT sends MIDI messages over the Android USB port which can be recorded by your DAW on a PC or MAC.
When you download a paid or free app on Google Play, the app is connected to your Google Account, meaning that if you have multiple devices with the same Gmail, you can install the app on all of your devices without purchasing the app again.
Android 6.0 and MIDI over USB capability. Please be aware that not all Android 6.0 devices provide MIDI connectivity.

On regular XY Pads you use 1 finger to control 2 MIDI controllers assigned on 2 axes, X and Y.
On 3D Pads you can use 2 fingers at the same time. The 1st finger acts as a regular XY Pad while the 2nd finger controls a 3rd MIDI controller assigned on Z axis.
Any MIDI channel except for MIDI Channel 1.
Don’t confuse the Input channels with the MIDI channels 1-16 used by VST instruments.

Although Aftertouch is a function which requires a MIDI keyboard and Sustain requires a physical pedal, we found it useful to implement these functions as a fader and 2 buttons respectively to help users who don’t own a MIDI keyboard with Aftertouch or pedals.
A preset is a custom setup, made by a user for a single function eg. 3D Pads or Faders.
A profile is a collection of 1 or more presets for all DAW IT functions.

Usually you don’t have to deal with these folders unless you want to copy your profiles to another folder or device.
This can be done by using:
– your device File Manager (Android 11 has limitations, so be aware)
– your computer Explorer via USB
– the app’s Share button, as described here on step 7
Yes, you lose everything. Uninstallation clears completely DAW IT directories.
The best way is to make backups of your profiles using Android or Computer File manager or the Share button on DAW IT Profiles screen.
